U-topia, Washington DC

Opened in 1990 by Jamal Sahri, U-topia serves as a meeting point for the owner's passion for art and food. A collection of soulful paintings made by the owner himself features on the walls of the restaurant. The cafe also serves as a venue for art exhibitions by local artists. Adding to the artistic ambiance is the live jazz, that takes place from Wednesday through Sunday. As far as the food is concerned, savor the small plate delicacies like bruschetta and Mozzarella Pomodoro, as well as sandwiches and appetizers.
