The Edison Festival of Light celebrates the life and achievements of Thomas Alva Edison. The Festival is a classic American celebration for the entire family, introducing visitants and residents to all that the city has to offer. The event is orchestrated by more than 600 volunteers, sponsors and residents. There are many interesting events for all ages, including but not limited to science fair, mutt strutt, junior parade, craft show, 5K race and the celebrated grand parade.

Centennial Park, located in the heart of downtown Fort Myers, is a nice place to take a break from a convention or meetings to get some fresh air and soak in the sun. The ten-acre park offers picnic areas, a river walk and playground. The park is host to concerts, craft shows and the Downtown Farmer's Market every Thursday.
