Jacksonville is almost 350 miles north of Miami and on the widest part of the peninsula, so it’s significantly colder than South Florida in the winter. The low season stretches from November—when the weather turns cool—through March or April.
The cool, dry spring and somewhat hotter fall are the best times to visit. Summers are hot, just like the rest of Florida, and the beaches are popular with regional visitors who drive down to enjoy the sand and surf of the Beaches, Ponte Vedra and Amelia Island. The spring and fall feature somewhat cooler temperatures and no crowds, though the action does pick up around spring break and the Easter holidays.
