Amelia Island State Park in northeast Florida is located at the southern tip of this barrier island located about 30 minutes north of Jacksonville. 300 preserved acres with marvelous shoreline on intracoastal and rounding the tip to Atlantic Ocean. Popular spot for fishing from the beach. Nassau County, Florida residents with 4WD vehicles can drive onto the beach (non-residents require permit from county courthouse). Many shorebirds flock to this area and nest. It's also the location of Kelly Seahorse Ranch, a rare opportunity to go horseback riding right on the southend beaches of Amelia Island, Florida.
