This downtown Jacksonville memorial is a somber yet noble tribute to those who fought for the nation. The outdoor memorial, billed as the largest of its kind, lists veterans who fought in World Wars I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Persian Gulf War. This reminder of our country's bravest was dedicated in November 1995 and constructed of black granite in "proud remembrance and humble tribute." It is also said to be the only wall that honors veterans from all six branches of service, including the Merchant Marines.
