Overview
Open from dawn to dusk, this ocean-front park is beautiful! Located right on Biscayne Bay, it was the site of the Bay View Inn (later Peacock Inn) founded by Isabella and Charles Peacock, from London. Once the place was demolished, the park was created in 1934 as the Coconut Grove Bayfront Park. The name was changed to Peacock Park in 1973. This is the heart of the Grove and many events take place here, from concerts, sports games and art festivals to Shakespeare in the Park and Oktoberfest. It is flanked by the bay, Barnacle Park, library and marina. The 9.4-acre (3.8-hectare) area includes a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, playground, and skatepark. -Mercedes de Marchena
