Racks Italian Bistro & Market, Miami

Located in the Intercoastal Mall, this new place is all “lights, camera and action”. The 4,000-square-foot space has a movie-style, Old World charm, complete with Italian beers named after Italian movie directors. The waitresses are good-looking, and the food is good. The coal oven-fired pizzas are served hot and puffy and are worth the visit. There are other dishes to be tried, like the veal scallopine and the fried calamari. The marinara sauce is good and tangy over any pasta. The salads are big and served with a light dressing, and their Caesar has real anchovies. There is a list of California and Italian wines that is more than adequate. Cannoli and espresso can end the meal on a high note. - Mercedes de Marchena
