Situated north of Orlando in Ocala and encompassing over 350,000 acres, the Ocala National Forest offers you a chance to explore and enjoy Florida naturally. This is the country's southernmost forest and includes over 600 rivers, springs and lakes. Highlights of the park include four separate recreation areas (Alexander Springs, Juniper Springs, Silver Glen Springs and Salt Springs) featuring sparkling natural springs with year round water temperatures of 72-degrees Fahrenheit, plus numerous historical and breathtaking regions to explore. Activities in the park consist of camping, boating, hiking, biking, horseback-riding, fishing, birding, wildlife-viewing and many 4-wheel trails for ATVs and Jeeps. The Ocala National Forest offers visitors a chance to get back to nature. - Diane Dilov-Schultheis
