Palm Beach OVERVIEW
Palm Beach is the name of both a county and a city: The city is located on a small barrier island with a year-round population of just 10,000. The island is small enough to cover in a short visit, but venturing out into the county and adding West Palm Beach and Delray to the mix offers plenty to enjoy over the course of an extended stay. Thanks to the excellent Tri-Rail public transit system, you can avoid negotiating local traffic to get just about wherever you want to go in comfort, zipping between towns and neighborhoods at a whim. This means if you’re in the mood for soaking up some Palm Beach culture in the morning and the casual, artsy ambiance of Delray in the afternoon, you can do it at a moment’s notice without a map, and without the stress of getting lost.
