Located just around the corner from posh Worth Avenue, this British Colonial style stalwart has been the headquarters for visiting politicos and celebrities since it opened in 1947. The 90 guest rooms, suites, villas and penthouses were recently renovated to the tune of $12 million. Still, it’s a relaxing place, where the plush beds are dressed with Egyptian cotton sheets and a West Indies-style décor inspires serenity. Special rates from May-October start at $175 per night with breakfast (suites, penthouses and two-bedroom villas don’t apply); rates jump during the high season, beginning in November.
