Overview
Over 500 species of wildlife, including 15 federally threatened or endangered species, inhabit this 140,000 acre refuge which is owned by NASA and overlays the Kennedy Space Center. A visitor's center and a manatee observation deck are on site, as well as four hiking trails, a seven mile auto tour route, and an observation tour. Fishing, waterfowl hunting, boating, and canoeing opportunities are available and educational programs are provided November through March.
