Georgia Historical Society, Savannah

Thousands of researchers visit The Georgia Historical Society's Hodgson Hall, circa 1875, to sit beneath the high vaulted ceilings of the library and delve into the vast archives. Founded in 1839, the Georgia Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of Georgia History, a mission made evident by its expansive collection of 18th, 19th and 20th Century manuscripts, maps, images, diaries, business records and government and military papers.
