Since 1941, The William L. Grayson Stadium has played host to a number of sports, especially baseball and is currently home to the Savannah Sand Gnats of the South Atlantic League. The stadium, being an important landmark in Savannah, is easy to locate and lies in the bounties of nature within plush green surroundings. The fully-roofed stadium provides seating arrangements for over 8000 people and is colorfully decorated with bright red and black. It is well-structured too, with the concession and souvenir stands located below the grandstand seatings and it also houses a separate out-field bleacher section. Over the years, it has played host to some of the greatest names in baseball including the likes of Ty Cobb and Mickey Mantle.
