Tacos El Unico , Hawai'i (Big Island)

Tucked away in a small strip mall wedged in between Kuakini Highway and Alii Drive, this tiny taqueria is not the easiest Mexican spot to find, but it's certainly one of the more authentic. The atmosphere is colorful and inviting and once inside, there is a palatable sense of being transported from the waterfront village of Kona to somewhere ever so delicious in Mexico. Burritos and menudo are the specialty at this family run restaurant. Stick to the basics here because everything from tacos to quesadillas are generously portioned and well done, right down to the outdoor eating area and the red plastic serving dishes.
