  • Day 1
  • 1 After breakfast, apply sunscreen and pack some beach gear. Sign up for a surf lesson or rent a board from the beachboys at Kuhio Beach.
  • 2 Grab a plate lunch at Rainbow Drive-In or an acai bowl at Diamond Head Cove.
  • 3 Spend the afternoon at the Waikiki Aquarium or the Honolulu Zoo.
  • 4 Return to your hotel and wash off the sand. Head to Duke’s for cocktails and dinner.
  • 5 If you’re not entirely drained, enjoy a drink or two at Rumfire.
  • Day 2
  • 1 Head downtown and take a tour of Iolani Palace.
  • 2 Have lunch at an eatery in Chinatown or try a bowl of chili rice at a local Zippy’s.
  • 3 Shop for souvenirs and swig a happy hour beer at Aloha Tower.
  • 4 Enjoy dinner and Hawaiian music at Chai’s.
  • 5 Check out the live band or deejay at Next Door. If you’re hungry for late night grinds, you know where Zippy’s is.
  • Day 3
  • 1 It’s time to get out of “town” and head to the “country,” as rural Oahu in East Honolulu is known. A quarter-tank of gas will buy you a circle island tour through the pineapple fields to the north shore.
  • 2 Have lunch at Diamond Head Cove Health Bar, and see what else this establishment has to offer.
  • 3 Stop at The Olive Tree Café in Kahala for dinner.
  • 4 Don your swanky threads and head to Lotus Soundbar to get your groove on.
  • Day 4
  • 1 Sleep in and wander over to the Pacific Beach Hotel for a leisurely breakfast/brunch at the Oceanarium Restaurant.
  • 2  Admire the beautiful botanical gardens at Harold L. Lyon Arboretum.
  • 3 Go for a sunset swim followed by drinks at Lewers Lounge.
  • 4 Order a gorgeous presentation of sushi rolls at Sansei Sushi for dinner, and if you’re not tired, stick around for karaoke night or live jazz.
  • Day 5
  • 1 Head to Manoa Valley and take an enchanting hike through the rainforest to Manoa Falls.
  • 2 Have lunch at town in Kaimuki, and go window shopping along Waialae Avenue.
  • 3 Spend the afternoon at the Academy of Arts and after a quick bite to eat at a nearby restaurant in Chinatown, check out a film at Doris Duke, the Academy’s art house theatre.
  • Day 6
  • 1 Explore the thriving reefs and enjoy more beach time at Hanauma Bay.
  • 2 Stop to enjoy a nice lunch at Alan Wong's Restaurant.
  • 3 Fill the afternoon with an enriching dose of Hawaiian culture at the Bishop Museum.
  • 4 Have dinner at the Ward Centers entertainment complex, and wander around the trendy boutiques in search of unique gift items.
  • Day 7
  • 1 Go snorkeling or surfing one more time to reinforce your memory of the grand Pacific.
  • 2 Have lunch at the food court in the International Marketplace, where you can also bargain for last-minute souvenirs.
  • 3 Time permitting, take a sunset stroll along Waikiki Beach and top off your visit with a fancy mai tai at Rumfire.
