Crepes No Ka Oi, Honolulu

No ka 'oi means "the best" in Hawaiian, and the dessert crepes at this creperie in Kailua are undoubtedly the best on the windward side. The restaurant is owned by Chris and Rosario "Kakay" Tarvyd. Chris, a Tahiti native, and Kakay, a Filipina, enjoyed crepes in their native lands. They decided to open a creperie after seeing their crepes sell out at fairs and festivals. The restaurant is pleasant and unpretentious, and the service is good. Bestsellers include the banana Nutella and the spiced apple crepe. They also serve savory crepes stuffed with the usual fare: ham, cheese, mushrooms, spinach and turkey.
