Mix Plate Café, Honolulu

Mix Plate Cafe is a small and bright place in Kapalama near the canal. The eatery is plain and more functional than comfortable, but the combination of local specialties and Vietnamese dishes make this the perfect spot when some want noodle soup and others want a plate lunch. The low ceiling and tiled floors make the dining area feel smaller than it really is, while the dark wood tables give the place a modern feeling. The menu is classic Vietnamese with the pho broth being both flavorful and rich. The pho comes with beef, chicken, meatballs or a combination of toppings for those who cannot decide.
