Nanakuli Beach Park

Neighborhood: Honolulu, Island of O'ahu - Leeward Oahu
Overview
One of the first of several leeward beaches along the Waianae Coast, Nanakuli is sunny, deserted, and attracts more locals than tourists. The shoreline is sandy, and the water conditions are wonderful in the summer for swimming, snorkeling, scuba and free diving. The winter months are an entirely different story: surf is treacherous, and the strong rip currents and deep drop-offs make it beach that is better for sunbathing than any water activities. Many area families gather on the large grassy area for picnics, ocean-side barbecues and celebrations. This lifeguarded beach comes along with free parking, picnic tables, restrooms and showers. - Lottie Tagupa
