The North Shore has been under a shrimp explosion lately: shrimp stands, trucks, take-out spots and more have been popping up everywhere between Haleiwa and Kahuku over the years. With both tourists and locals gravitating in greater numbers to these places, it's about time to let everyone know that Romy's was the first and is by far the best in the area. That simply comes down to the idea that Romy's shrimp comes fresh from the farms located just behind the stand. They stop serving when they run out, and they do not used frozen shrimp or other less than fresh ingredients.
