Japengo, Maui

This open-air restaurant is located off the main lobby of the Hyatt Maui in Kaanapali. The dark woods and ocean views provide a feeling of far eastern elegance. The Pan Asian menu that is filled with flavors from Japan, China, Indonesia, Singapore and other points East. Serving dinner only, the décor is exotic and contemporary with service that is attentive and gracious. The sushi lounge has one of the more extensive sushi menus in Kaanapali, while the main dining room offers manila clams with lemongrass and miso, roasted char siu duck with bao buns and plum sauce. - Lottie Tagupa
