Kai Sushi, Maui

Located just off the lobby at the Ritz Carlton Kapalua, this resort sushi bar is a wonderful twist on the traditional izakaya restaurants that have existed in Hawaii for generations. Carved wooden beams with Asian silhouettes and warm tones and textures fill the dining area. There are no complete meals here, but lots of beer and cocktails that complement various delectable sushi and small plates of sashimi, tempura and more. Chef Tadashi Yoshino is the sushi master, and in the true sushi bar style, he takes front row center to display and share his culinary knowledge and skills with patrons from near and far. -Lottie Tagupa
