Led by artistic director Douglas Alan-Mann, Chicago Theatre Company, located in the Parkway Community Center, is home to one of the few community-based African-American troupes in the city. The troupe usually produces an average of three plays per year, such as the successful 'Train Is Comin'', the saga of the a cappella Fisk Jubilee Singers. The theater promotes African-American talent, and supports a Youth Outreach Program that brings students to the productions.
