Overview
Following the lead of architects Burnham and Root, Holabird and Roche erected this masterful skyscraper at the corner of Dearborn and Van Buren Streets. The facade is a deep, almost black color and gorgeous scrollwork adorns the building. This is one of only a handful of buildings left from that boom time in Chicago history that gave birth to a new American and distinctly Chicago style of architecture. Tours of the Loop, including the Old Colony building, are conducted by the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Call +1 312 922 3432 for information.
