Named in honor of local icon Joseph J. Robichaux, the Robichaux Park is a popular recreational spot among the locals in the Washington Heights area of the city. The park stretches along the length of the South Eggleston Avenue, bordered one one side by railroad tracks. Built in order to provide an open, green space for the burgeoning population of Washington Heights in the 1960s, this park features amenities like baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and meeting rooms.
