A casual, open air restaurant that offers great food, a dance hall, and a catering facility. Bayou Barn even has its own line of cajun seasonings and an on-site gift shop. The restaurant hosts cajun parties, cajun dancing, and cajun festivals. They also offer daily swamp tours and canoe rentals.

We actually went to the Bayou Barn, New Orleans, for a function as part of a tour guide just in April 2011, and we certainly would not recommend this. The quality of the food at the Bayou Barn was very underwhelming and of poor quality. With the range of cuisine available, and the international reputation of New Orleans food, I think there was a serious lack of quality on the night that we attended. I've also had the opportunity to participate in some New Orleans cooking classes in my week visit to New Orleans, and believe that there were some poor choices made to represent New Orleans at the Bayou Barn, and I don't believe that I could recommend your place as a venue for cultural experience of LA. A part from the jumbalya, the chicken wasn't anything that was distinctive, while the bread pudding was a very poor representation of the dish. The vegetables were very poorly prepared and overcooked, and we were very relieved when we were able to leave at a reasonable time to actually be able to find somewhere to eat once we were back at our hotel. Overall, the menu was underwhelming. We had been really looking forward to a traditional "cook out" of New Orleans cuisine, but unfortunately the Bayou Barn did not live up to the reputation, and I feel very strongly that I needed to advise you of this, and would seriously caution others not to book this as a an outing.
