Overview
Mount Clare was built in 1760 by Charles Carroll, a barrister, Revolutionary patriot and distant relative of the signer of the Declaration of Independence by the same name. This two-story Georgian brick home has been reconstructed adding to elegance and class of the edifice. Original paintings, furniture and decorative art are on display. Mount Clare was named in the National Register of Historic places in 1970.
