Built in the style of the grand dame hotels of Ocean City’s early heyday, the Dunes stands out for its impressive façade, which towers over the beach with muscular historical presence. We don’t quite think the rooms live up to the promise of the exterior, but you have to understand that is a whole lot of promise. For a mid-range place, you’ll likely find the sleeping experience here perfectly serviceable. Plus, you’re in as central a location as you please, all rooms look out onto the ocean, and we’re pretty fond of the onsite bar and restaurant.
