Michael Mina's other contribution to the MGM Grand Detroit, in addition to the upscale Bourbon Steak, is Saltwater, a contemporary seafood and American restaurant. Mina takes his special twist on cuisine, offering dishes such as Lobster Pot Pie, Tapioca-Crusted Tai Snapper, Black Mussel Souffle, and Ahi Tuna Tartare. However, the food at Saltwater is not the only attraction. A unique interior consisting of a mosaic ceiling, glass panels to separate tables, and seashell oil lamps on the tables gives diners the right aquatic atmosphere to accompany their meal.
