This museum in the heart of Jackson's historic black community offers exhibits, documents and artifacts that represent the African-American experience in Mississippi, with a special attention paid to the Farish Street Historical District. Housed in the first public school for African-American children in Jackson, this facility is a treasure of cultural study and research. Displays highlight the contributions of Southern blacks to all facets of life.
