An old bank building in University City was converted several years ago to a combination root beer brewery and family restaurant, Fitz's draws an enthusiastic crowd of college students, adults and children. Diners can watch the root beer making and bottling processes through a large glass partition, all the while enjoying good pub food such as hamburgers, pizzas, etc. The root beer, a revered St. Louis formula that dates back to an old roadside stand from the 1940s, is terrific, too.

  A great place to take your kid's . . . and for adults too! Fitz's has an exposed brew pub (root beer that is) like an exposed kitchen which can be fun and entertaining to watch. Fitz's has great root beer and other flavored soft drinks (cream is my favorite!) made right on the premises. They serve traditional bar fare: burgers, pizza, etc......   Read More
