Overview
Founded in 1854, and located on the banks of the Missouri River, Omaha is among the most popular tourist spots in Nebraska. The city has a number of historic structures and landmarks because of the strong preservation movement. The Old Market is a major historic site in Downtown Omaha. The Henry Doorly Zoo, Omaha Botanical / Lauritzen Gardens and the Kenefick Park are some of the major recreational areas of the city. Omaha truly reflects the spirit of the Midwest.
