Best Reno Hotels

AOL PICK from our Editors

You'll find great values when it comes to sleeping in Reno. Nice rooms price out at $200 max a night and you'll find most are available in the $50 to $150 range per night. You can find even more value with stay-and-play vacation packages for spa treatments, golfing, dining, skiing, kayaking, snowmobiling and more. But swanky hotels and resorts are not too far away. Just up the hill in the Lake Tahoe area, visitors choose from a jewel of a Hyatt that’s right on the beach for $300 to $450 a night, a Ritz-Carlton attached to the swanky Northstar ski resort for more than $400 a night or a green-focused hotel in Truckee that runs up to $370 a night.

Price Range: Budget

The Days Inn, a 60-minute drive from Reno, features 42 rooms and is nothing fancy (be warned that the website claims the property has undergone renovations, but it doesn't look like it). What this cheap hotel has going for it is that it’s one mile from the casinos, shopping, fine restaurants and the gondola for Heavenly Ski Resort. Guests can relax by the outdoor heated pool in the summer or soak in the outdoor year-round hot tub. The hotel also features free wireless Internet in all rooms, in-room coffee makers, complimentary continental breakfast from 7 to 10AM and free parking.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa

Neighborhood: Downtown Reno
Price Range: Budget

While the 980-room Atlantis is chock-full of stuff catering to bigwigs and high rollers, you'll still find plenty of moderately priced rooms here as well. Rooms range from affordable, pet-friendly digs to suites in the Concierge Tower, homebase for big spenders and business travelers. Rooms and suites in the tower and on the east side of the resort received an update in 2008 that included all new furniture. The large, open sports book area was remodeled in 2009, and the new destination spa opened in January 2008, but much of the casino still has a quirky, under-the-sea  theme. The casino is home to many gaming tournaments, live entertainment, concerts and some exceptional restaurants. The casual Manhattan Deli offers a huge menu of authentic, lip-smacking Jewish New York deli items, such as piled-high pastrami sandwiches and matzo ball soup. The casual, fine-dining restaurant Bistro Napa offers fresh and seasonal specialties and has a popular happy hour (4 to 6PM daily, featuring half-price small plates, wood-fired flat breads, wines and specialty cocktails). If you're looking for a side order of ambience, head to the Atlantis Steakhouse, which serves up steaks and chops alongside a 1,100-gallon saltwater aquarium.
