Best Atlantic City Nightlife

AOL PICK from our Editors
The best Atlantic City nightclubs keep the party going. From the constant fun of the piers to the incessant throb of club music at night, the city is always jumping in one way or another. Of course, the glitzy casino hotels tend to rule after dark—they have the best shows (comedians like Craig Robinson), performers (Beyonce and Black Eyed Peas, to name a few), and sought-after nightclubs (the drinks cost a fortune but the DJs are priceless). A little farther away from the boardwalk you'll find some old-school pubs for a quiet pint or two, if you need a break from the dancing hordes.

Casbah

Neighborhood: Marina District
You never know when you're going to find a "Situation" at the Casbah. It is rumored to be the favorite AC club of famous ab-man Mike Sorrentino and DJ Pauly D, so this is your chance to party with the Jersey Shore crew. It's a Jersey Shore kind of crowd most weekends—big hair and deep tans abound. Luckily there's a great roster of DJs to spice things up, starting with Grammy-nominee Danny Tenaglia. When the flashing neon and strobe lights take their toll, head outside to the Skybar, where there's another set of DJs spinning after midnight.

Dusk

Neighborhood: Marina District
You can literally party from Dusk 'til Dawn at Caesars--it is open 24 hours, and those are the names of its two major nightclubs. Dusk is on one floor and features lots of (ahem) stripper poles if you want to get in some risque dance moves. Dawn's floor has VIP reserved seating and an outer patio overlooking the AC boardwalk. Dusk is busy weekend nights, of course, but also sees crowds on Tuesdays, when it has a popular electronica/house music party. Fan favorites who've played at Dusk include the Black Eyed Peas and reggae pop star Sean Kingston.

The Pool After Dark

Neighborhood: Marina District
Nothing says Atlantic City like bikini-clad waitresses and VIP hot tubs. Harrah's hedonistic Pool party runs until 4AM, against a background of calf-deep water and a 50-seat bar. Go ahead and jump in—revelers are allowed to bring bathing suits and get wet. When you need to towel dry, rent one of the private cabanas ringing the action. That's where the likes of Kim Kardashian hang out.

Boogie Nights

Neighborhood: Marina District
Welcome to the grooviest party in town. Doesn't matter if you remember the '70s (or the '80s, for that matter), Boogie Nights will get you dancing. Every Friday and Saturday night at this mid-scale resort a DJ spins the most danceable tunes from the good old days--anything from KC & The Sunshine Band to Cindi Lauper. And the crowd, a mix of 20-to-40-somethings, doesn't hold back. It’s Atlantic City, where craziness is the norm. Some people have even gotten married at Boogie Nights. Come as you are or join the real die-hards and dress in '70s-inspired garb, bell bottoms and all.

Club Mixx

Neighborhood: Marina District
It's not the biggest club in town or the newest, but it still ranks among the hottest Atlantic City nightclubs going. Nothing starts at Mixx before 10PM, and that's, unfortunately, when the lines start to get long, too. Expect a wait to get to the dance floor, where you'll hear high-profile DJs like DJ DL, DJ Vice, even Samantha Ronson working their Top 40, hip hop and 90s magic. There are no tables or seats or even seats at the bar—but there are go-go dancers—and the upstairs is reserved almost exclusively for bottle service. Sundays the party starts early; check out the Social Sundays scene at Borgata's Sunbar that eventually bleeds into Mixx later on.
