Things start to heat up with the weather in Atlantic City, so the best time to consider an Atlantic City vacation is mid-May through early September—usually Labor Day. June, July and August are the busiest months when the city’s always at capacity.
Off-SeasonJanuary - May
January through early May bleak, salty and frigid. Cold Atlantic winds take hold and most of the city’s best-known attractions are shut down until summer. The prices drop and the casinos still zing, but the beautiful outdoor fun that’s the hallmark of the Jersey Shore is in deep hibernation.
Shoulder SeasonSeptember - December
After mid-September the energy gets quieter in Atlantic City, and everything moves in a weekend rhythm. Most visitors come in Friday and depart by Monday, leaving the weekdays for the locals to enjoy the tangy boardwalk air. By Christmas it’s busy again, as holiday revelers flood the city.
