Overview

Midway Park, which originally opened in 1898 as a trolley park, is the second oldest amusement park in New York State and one of the oldest continually operating amusement parks in the country. Since 2006 it has been operated by the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation. Located on Chautauqua Lake, this park has something for everyone. Rides include a vintage carousel, bumper boats, go karts, tilt a whirl, and more. There is a miniature golf course and midway games. Visitors can even enjoy fishing in the lake. There is also a small museum, gift shop and food concessions. - Christine A. Smyczynski
