Greene Street is famous for five blocks of cast iron buildings that were built between the years 1869-95 and are now a part of the architectural heritage and famous locality called Soho. Galleries, boutiques, art studios, residencies and shops abound in and around this street. Greene Street is also regarded as where it all began for SoHo.
