This tiny restaurant, renowned for its great food, features closely packed tables and the ubiquitous (in New York City) exposed brick walls that are adorned with ceramic wall plates. Outstanding items on Celeste's menu include the carciofini e parmigiano (a baby artichoke salad), the sinful but delicious ricotta di bufala (golden friend buffalo ricotta), the gnocchi alla sorrentino and any of restaurant's pizza offerings, which are prepared in its visible wood-fire oven. Mention must also be made of Celeste's mouth-watering desserts like the heavenly tiramisu and a delicious torta di mele (apple yart), along with the cheese platter which features a fine selection of various different cheeses served with fine fruit jams. - Anjeeta Nayar
