The existence of the Church of Notre Dame can be traced back to 1910, when it was started as a mission of the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, and was under the care of Fathers of Mercy. The idea of the church expanded and started receiving a following after it was associated with the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France. Today, the Church of Notre Dame is a symbol of not just compelling architectural beauty, but also of a unification of the varied ethnic groups that come here to pray. The church also plays host to a passel of events all year round, and is also the performance venue of the theater group Storm Theatre. See the website for more information.
