Ellis Island Immigration Museum, New York

Ellis Island is shadowed by the Statue of Liberty that punctuates Liberty Island. Between 1892 and 1954, over 12 million immigrants disembarked on Ellis Island, thus pioneering the immigration movement that is of significant importance to the country's history. The government called for the construction of immigration stations to cater to the inspection process. The Main Building boasts splendid architecture, reminiscent of the Beaux Arts style. In 1990, the abandoned establishment was restored as the Immigration Museum. Spanning over three floors, it is home to a well-preserved collection of photographs, videos, artifacts and interactive exhibits that reflect American heritage.
