Overview
Affiliated with NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, Materials for the Arts (MFTA) is an organization that supports creative endeavors and artists from all over the city. Established in 1978, MFTA makes resources and spaces available to the artists and art institutions. Working in sync with major corporate houses and individual donors, it takes unused or used materials from them and passes it on to the various groups who need it; this ensures recycling of waste and also helps the artists with their budget. Apart from that, MFTA also hosts events and shows throughout the year. For additional information and event schedule, check website or call ahead.
