Don't go to New Malaysia looking for ambiance as there is none, but do go for its excellent Malaysian cuisine which is served in strictly pedestrian environs. The menu at New Malaysia is fairly extensive and features many indigenous Malay dishes like Ipoh Rojak(tamarind based salad), Poh Piah(fresh spring rolls) and Roti Canai(fluffy bread and coconut based chicken curry). Notable dishes on the menu include the Indian Mee Goreng (fried curried noodles), Hainanese Chicken Rice(Steamed chicken served with a flavorful broth and rice), Assam Laksa(curried noodle soup) and Nasi Lemak(a complete meal of chicken, rice and accompaniments like boiled egg and pickle). Do end your meal with a typical Malay desert like Chendol or Red Bean ice.
