Solo, New York

The meat and vegetarian preparations are strictly kosher here - and Solo is one of the most upscale kosher restaurants in town. The cuisine is fusion (it incorporates elements of Asian, American and French cuisine) and, as with any restaurant with such width in its choices, the dishes can be hit and miss. The Vietnamese duck spring rolls are a pleasing mix of crunch and tender, flavorful meat; the portobello mushroom soup is richly flavored with truffle oil. The decor is delightful and the service endlessly efficient. Solo is closed during Sabbath (late Friday to late Saturday).
