Under St. Marks, New York

Owned and operated by the Horse Trade theater development group, Under St. Marks Place is a theater that showcases experimental theater and has been  doing so since the 1970s. Located in the basement of the building, the origin of the unique name, this theater is also given on rent to traveling theater groups and other artists. The venue also has a beer and wine license, thus those wanting to be intoxicated on something other than an engaging performance can find their needs met. The only downside to the venue being in a basement is that those who are differently-abled will not find easy access. See the website for more information.
