Overview
While the East Village has long been a hip neighborhood, it first was an ethnic community. This Ukrainian restaurant is a remnant of that history, although it is extremely modern and bright looking. Veselka is a combination luncheonette and sidewalk cafe with an Eastern European air. Breakfast muffins, bagels, potato pancakes and cheese blintzes are among the selections.
