Founded in 1973, Yeshiva University Museum is dedicated to interpreting the Jewish experience. It features exhibits of art and artifacts confiscated from the Nazis, Zionist period paintings, and a letter from Thomas Jefferson affirming religious freedom to the Shearith Israel congregation (the oldest congregation in New York City and one of the oldest in the United States).
