This 200-acre state park, located along the Niagara River Gorge, has brought the arts to the general public since 1974. Visitors will find natural beauty, as well as visual and performing arts during the summer months. The Mainstage Theater seats up to 2,400; plus an additional 2,000 can watch performances from the lawn seating. A three-tiered outdoor amphitheater can accommodate over 20,000. A number of free outdoor concerts are scheduled each season. Visitors can picnic along the gorge or hike scenic trails. Located within the park is the Lewiston Portage Landing Site, a National Historic Landmark, which marks the spot where Native Americans and fur traders would land their boats to portage around the falls. Of special interest is the Lewiston Mound, an ancient Native American burial site located in the park.
