Overview

The preserve is a 77-acre habitat offering a great spot for bird watching, hiking, and picnics. The hardwood forest that makes up most of the preserve is home to different species of wildlife. Mecklenburg Audubon Society, which has adopted the preserve holds regular bird-watching trips and volunteer with the upkeep. Evergreen Preserve is popular with nature-lovers as compared to the adjoining Sheffield Park, which is inclined to attract picnickers. Open daily from 7am.
