Overview

Established several decades ago as an initiative by Charlotte Observer, Camp Thunderbird is now managed by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. It is located around 16 miles from Charlotte, with a giant waterslide and baseball pitch on-site. Ski boats, for having some fun in the Lake Wylie are also available. This camp is operational throughout the year and offers several programs dealing with subjects like ecology, specially suited to youth and school children.
