  • Day 1
  • 1 Take a free tour of the State Capitol building, one of the country's finest examples of Greek Revival architecture.
  • 2 Visit the Monets, Wyeth's and O'Keeffe at the North Carolina Museum of Art. If it's nice out, be sure to wander the museum's new 164-acre museum park, with hiking trails and interactive installation art.
  • 3 Line up for dinner at Poole's Downtown Diner—no reservations accepted!
  • Day 2
  • 1 Browse the colorful mounds of melons, tomatoes, okra, berries and whatever else is in season at the farmer's market in Chapel Hill.
  • 2 Gawk at dino skeletons at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. 
  • 3 Wine and dine in trendy Glenwood South. Choose from sushi, brick oven pizza, tapas—you name it!
  • 4 Wander the boutiques and housewares of downtown—don't miss the three-story treasure trove of vintage and retro goods at Father and Son.
