La Dolce Vita, Cleveland

Fellini's classic 1960 film La Dolce Vita, or "The Sweet Life," is the inspiration for this Little Italy restaurant. But where Fellini focuses on the alienation of modern hedonism, the restaurant of the same name wisely focuses on authentic Italian food. Much of the menu is based around daily specials of fish, risotto and pasta, among other things. More permanent entrées include polo pomodoro, chicken in white wine with tomatoes, garlic and feta cheese; or vitelo di Verona, with veal topped by tomatoes, artichokes and bread crumbs. There are also pasta dishes, such as the vegetarian saffron primavera with peppers, tomatoes and carrots, or pizzas like the tomato or spinach Quatro Formaggi. - Marjorie Jensen
